Accessibility Services and Accommodations
Monongalia Arts Center strives to make our events and facilities accessible to all our patrons. If you have questions about access or wish to request ASL interpreter or visual guide accommodations, please contact the Monongalia Arts Center's staff at (304)292-3325 (TTY/TDD: (304)292-3326 -call twice) or by e-mail to info@monartscenter.com .
Please request ASL interpreters or visual guides at least three weeks in advance of the event for which you have tickets or wish to attend.
Please give us as much notice as possible for any other request, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please be prepared to discuss your needs with us, to let us know if you will have a companion attending the event with you, and provide us with your name and contact information so that we can follow up with you.
Parking
A very limited number of designated accessible parking spaces are located on the High Street side of our building. The spot directly in front of the building, also may be used as a drop-off and pick-up point. Accessible parking spaces are also designated across High Street and down from our building on every block.
Quick Guide to Accessibility by Venue
Monongalia Arts Center does programming in our own spaces and other venues around our community. Before heading to an event, please check with MAC (call, email or online) to verify the location and consult these notes for details about each venue.
Benedum Gallery
- The Benedum Gallery is located on our main, through the lobby and has a double-door entrance that contains no tripping-hazards.
- The Benedum Gallery is accessible to those with any form of mobility impairment.
- Accessible restrooms are located next to our wheelchair accessible entrance, near the Tanner Theatre.
- Wheelchairs are available upon request.
- Mobility access services are available, please ask MAC's staff to assist you in navigating the exhibition.
Tanner Theatre
- Accessible seating is available almost everywhere in the Tanner Theatre due to the flexible nature of the seating system.
- Accessible restrooms are located next to our wheelchair accessible entrance, near the Tanner Theatre.
- A limited number of assistive listening devices are available upon request for shows that use amplified sound.
- Wheelchairs are available upon request.
-Large-type programs are available with 48 hours advanced notice due to our print-on-demand paper-reduction policy.
Robert M. Davis Gallery
- There is no elevator in Davis Gallery: if stairs pose difficulties we have located a high-definition video monitor in our lobby which displays a slide-show of the current exhibit with details of each individual art work.
- Accessible restrooms are located off the main floor lobby near the Tanner Theatre.
- A limited number of assistive listening devices are available on request for shows that use amplified sound.
- Wheelchairs are available upon request.

Silver Factory and Stitch Lounge

-When considering events and classes in the Silver Factory and Stitch Lounge please read our Classes Policy. MAC makes every reasonable effort accommodate your accessibility needs.
Classes Policy
- Patrons with wheelchairs will be guided to an accessible entrance located on the north side of the building, nearest the Hotel Morgan.
- With advance notice, MAC will move the class to the nearest accessible in our main floor to accommodate your needs.
- Accessible restrooms are located next to our wheelchair accessible entrance, near the Tanner Theatre.
- A limited number of assistive listening devices are available upon request for shows that use amplified sound.
- Wheelchairs are available upon request.
- Large-type class information is available if notification is given during class-registration or with 48-hour notification.
Off-Site Venues
-Before heading to an event, please check with MAC (call, email or online) to verify the accessibility of the facility.
-MAC makes every reasonable attempt to use accessible off-site venues. However you should always also check the policy of those operating individual facilities.
-When possible MAC post all accessibility information regarding off-site venues on our website.
